Crossover & BISD Partnership

Our schools are the perfect place to serve and to care for others in our community! Through our school partnerships, we encourage the families of Freeport in three key ways:

+  By loving the educators and administrators

      who work with their kids

+  By being involved in the education that their

      kids receive

+  By supporting them in the things that impact

      their daily lives and futures

Our current school partnerships are with Velasco and O.A. Fleming Elementary. As a part of this partnership we have volunteers who spend time on campus each week helping in classrooms, supporting teachers, and doing small things to let the staff know that all of their hard work is appreciated. We look forward to growing and developing our relationship with these great learning institutions!

Anchor Dads

Our second partnership with BISD is with Brazosport High School. A major part of our ministry on this campus involves our participation with the Anchor Dads program. As a part of the Anchor Dad program, men from Crossover volunteer their time to become mentors to each football player in the program.

We make contact with each one of the young men once a week, throughout the school year. Each Wednesday during the season, these men have “Coffee with Coach,” where Coach Rudolph reviews game film and allows them to share stories of their mentorships.

Crossover wants to help the whole person so this year we will be partnering with a local nutritional company to help support the residents of Freeport in achieving their physical health goals. The company we are partnering with is Can Do Nutrition. Each month they will come to the Gathering to share fitness and food prep ideas with those in attendance before and after service. Beginning January 2016, they will schedule FREE Wellness Evaluations for those interested. They will design a personal wellness program and coach participants for their entire journey.
